I didn't know about tank drilling at the time. I wish I did. But now I look at the set up and am not overly happy. More water volume is needed!
While at afss' I checked out his handy overflow. And was given the inspiration to build one similar. Bought 1-1/4 pipe and elbows. Fitted them together with this regular old yellow solvent cement and sized up the rest. Two plastic containers, one on either side of the glass. Keeping in mind Scotts suggestion to make the outer container output higher than the input. I may have it finished today. Working on the hooks that hold everything together.
I will get some pics asap.
The loop is not complete. when finished I want the PM skimmer hooked up. -->good 'ol CoralMorphian will have to come down for this one :)
so...temperarily my 198L bin is my sump and a smaller 15G bin sits inside. This small bin is the refugium with no macroalgea so no light on now. A minijet for movement from the sump to the 'fuge. Hole in the side for return. Really neandrethal looking and basic but.. with the holidays I can't justify buying a custom sump yet.
My issues will be these: My sedra 12000 pump is way more power than I'm used to. I have the 1" pipe. But plumbing everying together seems a bit much for me without senslessly slaping pieces together and waiting for the flood.:mixed:
What a nice guy. Scott is offering to come over and help.
I'll buy the beer this time.

Oh and I got a Blood shrimp and another serpent star for Christmas! So, I believe, as it stands, the only real contributor to a bioload would be my algea blennie.

I am in need of more sand. If there is not southdown avail locally I will get a bag or so of the small aragonite.

Also, after a month, still no RO/DI filter that was ordered
:(
