Hi,
I'm interesting in getting some medium sized seahorses for my 40gallon tank. Does anyone know where I can find some in the BC, Vancouver area?
Thanks!

Check with Aaron @ Seanic Aquariums... http://www.seanic.ca/
Although he's in Ontario, he's the only Canadian seahorse specialist that I am aware of, and I do believe that he ships.
Good luck!

I have also seen them at Reef Raft and Create a Reef. I believe they both ship as well

I live in BC as well.. I know that Hidden Reef in Abbotsford might still have a couple left (very expensive thought) 99.00. Also pet lovers in Abbotsford has one or 2 left and it is only 34.99 I think.

Thanks for all the kind words, but we are sitting on a 7 month waiting list. We are no longer importing out of Australia. All our seahorses are bred and raised by myself. We are going through some growing pains as the rearing process has mainly been trial and error, with more error than not. Just one word of caution of I have seen many of the seahorses that people are claiming to be captive bred and they are NOT.
Thanks

Hey Aaron, is there any way to tell if the SH is CB or WC? I'm thinking the only way to tell would be to observe it's eating habits?

I think your right Kev , the WC will only eat live shrimp and the CB will eat frozen.

Eating habits are a good clue, but I have since mastered away to get WC's to eat frozen, so the fact they eat frozen is not fool proof. I still think the best way to tell is by size. If they are fully grown there is no way they are Captive bred. It takes me 7-8 months to get them to about 3" and I want to sell them to get some money. We are seeing 6" ect seahorses for sale and it makes no sense to keep them that long. It is just not economical. Send Ocean Rider a email and ask them the size of the seahorses they ship none are near full grown.
