I'm looking to buy a pair of oscellaris clownfish to eventually match up with a bubble tip anemone. At a lfs I saw clownfish that were perhaps 1" or less in length, very small. I'm assuming these were baby clowns. The idea of raising them together seems intriguing.
#1. How hard is it to raise clowns? Would I be able to raise them in my preestablished 3 gallon until the become large enough and then switch them to my 20 gallon or should I put them straight in the 20? Should I just purchase adult clowns from the beginning?
#2. I've heard that paired clowns could cause one to become female and mating could occur. I'm positive that I'm not ready for this sort of thing to happen. I highly doubt the young would survive in my 20 with the other fish I will be having, and I'm not sure that I could raise the young myself in the 3 gallon. So, what are the chances of this happening and is there anything I can do if it does? I feel horrible leaving the babies to die in the 20g.
Thanks for the help.
