Oh I forgot to mention that while I was doing the "fuge" I also decided to increase my top off water container to 18 gal from 4 gal.

Nice work...! you;ve inspired me to make an auto top off too.
I'm using rubbermaid for my sump. Do you know how the plastic holds up over the years? does it weaken from the salt at all?
I dont imagine it does. but I worry.

The salt shouldn't be a real problem...I would worry more about the effects of UV light weakening the plastic. This shouldn't be an issue for quite some time though.
Just make sure that you are using "Food-Grade" plastics in your system to ensure no leaching of chemicals into your water. We recently witnessed one of our wholesalers who were using non-food-grade containers for their water storage. We measured the water at three stages:
TDS @ the tap was about 150ppm after the RO/DI unit was 0.00ppm and the filtered RO/DI water (that had been filtered to 0.00ppm TDS) sitting in the storage containers was measured at 350ppm!!!
Just food for thought!
Cheers,
