My porcupine of about 2 years died yesterday. In a way it was a mixed blessing. He wasn't right from the beginning. About 6 months after I got him he came down with some kind of internal infection and lost his eye sight. After 1 1/2 years of hand feeding him...he dies. Still its sorta sad. Does anyone know if porcupnes release any kind of toxin when they die? I know box and cowfish can do this when threatened, but I was wondering because now the other porky I have is acting funny. there is no sign of ich or flat worms or anything. Any ideas?

Well i did a large water change yesterday and the other puffer "Babs" (not after barbera) Is doing much beter. The breathing isn't as laboured. I bought a spotted puffer yesterday to replace squirt. I told the fish store where I bought him that I didn't know if she would work out and that I might have to return him. Your not suppose to have more than one puffer in a tank of 50 gallons, but after I move they'll be going in my 4ft 75.
Things are looking good though. I named the new guy "nibble" as he may have been a potential snack for Babs!!
