Folks, I am very sad to announce that Jay will be tearing down his tank. :bawl: :bsad:

Corals from his tank will be for sale. Lots of NICE & RARE pieces to choose from.

Jay will be taking a break as he is expecting his baby girl to be born on May 9th and would like to be able to spend some time with his daughter.

But don't worry, he will be back soon enough.

Thank you all.

Indeed RM, I tried to talk him out of it but was not successful.

I will try to post some pics of the tank and it's habitants (corals) tomorrow. There are quite a number of nice corals that you rarely see in the market.

Thanks all.

Congradulations to Jay on his baby girl.
As much as I love a beautiful reef its nothing compared to a smile on your daughters face.

Good luck to him.

Thanks to Michael Lambert, Jpdutton, Lotus02 and Estey.

It is nothing compare to having a child for the first time but also, it is very painful for him I'm sure that he has to put an end to his 25+ years in the hobby.

I will inform everyone when this is going to take place so to give everyone the opportunity to own his piece/s.

Who knows maybe one day he will contact you for frags... :bwink:

Congratulations on your coming baby girl Jay!!

I'm sure you'll raise enough dough from your sale of corals to supply you enough diapers and formula!!!

Good luck bud.

I am pretty new here, so I don't know who Jay is, nor have I ever seen any pictures of his tank. But I do have two little daughters of my own, so I totally agree with JPDutton when he said "nothing compare[s] to a smile on your daughters face". Totally nothing.

And because of the girls, I also know about how your finances for things like hobbies and sports equipment suddenly contract when the kids come around. Unfortunately, that's probably why I won't be one of the lucky ones to get any of his stuff. Oh well...

All the best and congratulations.:bravo:

It's actually fun to have a reef with kids around. The most important things, IME, are clowns, some euphyllias, and pumping xenia. Kids are enchanted by motion and bright colours.

You've seen my two girls in your place a coupla' times. The bigger one (now 4) corrects my wife on the names of the different critters in the tanks :)

Good luck, Jay!

Edit: but I should also add that the 4 year-old doesn't like hanging out in fish stores. I think they're just too "boy" for her, even if she does like looking at the critters :D

Just to be clear on the auction, the 1st acro is the pink one, and the second one is also pink on page 2 of the threat, right?

Can you post close-up pictures of what's left for sale, or PM me with them if you prefer.

WHAT!!!

I thought this was an auction, not a sale thingy and that the bidding ended on Saturday midnight or something like that. Now you say the first one is sold! That kinda ticks me off a bit you reniging on this and selling it after it was up for auction. I hope customer relation aren't anything like this, say one thing do another. Can you clarify why this is no longer an auction item and is now sold?
