Worm Orgy

well shortly after feeding time I was looking around and this is what I saw :eek1: , I wasn't sure if I should turn out the lighs or not ;)

I have seen this before in my tank too. Ive never been sure if its fighting over food, or an orgy. I think its more fighting over food as I have also seen the worms release clouds of dust (eggs and sperm imo) into the water column. When this happens you will see one do it, then across the tank onother one will.. they start sticking up out of the rock and sand as far outta the substrate as they can and then release. The time i saw it i thought i saw something outta the corner of my eye.. it took a few minutes to see the next one, by about 30 minutes later there were so many worms doing this that they were clouding the water continuosly. the ones in my sump and refugium started too. I never really asked anyone eles if they had experienced this, but i am sure others must have.

ya I thought it could have been food also but I had not feed yet and all fish were acounted for :D for a little more perspective there were about 10 in that hole there and I have never beforseen more than one in any given area. Kinda neat with the spawning I will have to keep a eye open for something like that.
