Anyone knows what are the diferences between regular tar ballast, pulse start bakllast & F-Can ballasts???:confused:

I'm pretty sure that an F-can ballast is pretty much just a tar ballast packed into a can.

yup, a F-Can is just a MH ballast that is packed in a tin can (looks like a fluoressent ballast) . a tar ballast is just the name that people give a normal Magnetic ballast.
Now the trickey part.. a Puls start is a tar ballast but it has a starter.. this is what is comenly used in europe. In North america our MH bulbs use "Opne line curent" for starting which basicly means you get full outlet power flowing through your bulb to start it. very power waistfull and hard on the bulbs.. the eropeans added a starter that pulses high voltage to the bulb till it strikes. hench the "pulse start" term.
