CAUTION: - DO NOT OVER PACK THIS TYPE OF CARTRIDGE!!
Resin expands when moisture is added! If you pack these canisters too tight - YOU WILL CRACK THE OUTER CANISTER!!!

In respect to the other canister that we offer - it is a COMPLETE SYSTEM (http://aquariumpros.ca/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=RDFC&Category_Code=RA) - not requiring any insert (as above).
It is also not as simple as suggested in the CanReef post above. This is the newest technology available and is a patented unit. I will allow Marianne to elaborate on the technology involved in this unit.
This unit also holds TWICE as much resin as a normal unit - so this means that you're getting x2 full DI cartridges worth of resin + the new cartridge for $89.99!! ONE regular DI cartridge is $49.95 - so 2 would be $99.90! Then each refill will now last twice as long too - so the refills for this unit are only $49.99 - again that's TWICE the content of a normal DI cartridge - thus equating to only $24.99 EACH!!
Either solution will save you $$$.
