I have two mated pairs of True Clowns and Bangaii Cardinals, I was wondering if anyone has some good sites to offer or good advice?
Thanks.

This is another good one. Breeders Net went off the air Feb 2004 so this is from the Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php). It might not work perfectly.

Alright, well this is total coincidence. I had planned on breeding my cardinals but wanted to read up on it first. Well I just discovered this evening that my male is holding a mouthful... so now I have to speed up my learning process.

In all my research, I've read that you should put the fry into a 10 gallon tank or so but it should be the same water and temp as the parent's tank.
What I was wondering is, would I be able to put the male into my 16 gallon nano reef (which has no other fish) and allow him to spit the fry out in there? Then take out the male and reacclimate him into the 30 gallon.
Would it be too hard on the male to be acclimated into another tank then reacclimated into the original tank within a week or two of each other?
Should I even bother risking the male by doing this?
Would it be that hard on the fry to be acclimated into a different tank?
The water would be different but would maintain similar temps.

If you knew when he was going to spit the fry out, you could take him out before he does, let him spit the fry, and then place him back in the main tank. Similarly done with clown eggs. I take my eggs out about an hour before they are going to hatch with about 3 gallons of brrodstock tank water and let them hatch in there. No acclimating has to be done because the water is all the same.
