Hello folks,

I received an RO unit from a relative visiting from the states. I have one question to replace the membranes will I have to order them from the states or can you find membranes to fit multiple units?

It should be a standard fit - it is the rare unit that is a non-standard membrane.

You should be able to get replacements here without a problem.

If you were to post a photo of the unit - I should be able to 100% confirm this.

Its model number is "RO-585". It is a 75 gpd unit.. If you still need a pic or measurements I can do that when I get home from work.

If this is the unit...then you have a standard membrane that can be replaced easily.

If this is the unit - you will want to remove the taste polisher (top-most mounted white with blue writing housing) - as this can add phosphates to the water ~ not desired for the aquarium. You can "T" the output to allow for both aquarium & drinking water production - and if you do this - then you can leave the taste polisher on the drinking water feed. These are filled with coconut shells - and add a little taste to the water to make it nicer (not that I use one). :)

That's fantastic AJ thank you very much.. I am assuming I can purchase membranes from this site. sorry haven't looked yet was worried I wouldn't be able to find them at all. I will have to look at the top piece and figuer out how to "T" it off as I am starting to win my algae battle with my small tank and would like to eliminate all possiblities as I look ahead to my 110 Gallon present I received for Christmas
:thanks:

Glad to help.

We do have a shopping cart - and do sell the replacement membranes ~ however the cart is not online at the moment due to the move to our new server. It should be back up & running again very soon.

Consider purchasing a TDS meter if you don't have one - as this is the only way to know how well your filter is working - and also know when the filters are exhausted and require replacement. Be sure to only use high quality replacement filters - and your membrane should last for over a year. The addition (and use) of a membrane flush kit can help prolong the membrane life for up to 3 years as well.

Should you still have any TDS being detected after the filter - consider adding on a DI stage to your unit.

Wishing you success and happiness in this New Year...

Hmmm... I was hoping to begin to fill my 110G this weekend. Where might I be able to purchase membranes or is there a way to contact you and get some sent? Also where might I be able to pick up a TDS meter?
