The Million dollar Q. How do I kill it. Tried ChemMarin Stop Aptasia, Joes Juice, Kalk, kalk and BBS, vinegar, glacial acetic acid, using a 10mL/18g (syringe/needle). Bloody thing won't die...LMAO. At least it's just the one.

Just got a camera from my bro-in-law, Sony DSC-707, still tinkering as he lost the manual for it...LMAO.

take the rock out of your tank, then let it fall off it self, but why do you want to kill it?

I've initially used a 2N formula of Sodium Hydroxide that worked pretty well, had to obviously do it very carefully on target, and 2 doses, 3 days apart, before the buggers finally croked. But in the end I found I had too many of them and unleashed 3 very hungary Peppermint Shrimp and night after night I had fewer and fewer Aiptasia....now I've only 1.

Long story short I guess.... NaOH works well where nothing else will.

I'll tell you the BEST way IME... if it is big(like about 1/2" or bigger) first nuke it by using; vinegar, joe's juice lime juice or whatever...
after, if you leave it like as it is, I'll bet you that they'll come back with a vengeance; so then add a peppermint shrimp~
problem with lot of people adding peps are that I dont' think they'll touch it if it's bigger than them so by nuking it, it reduces it's size and when they grow back it'll be small enough for them to chew up... good luck

It started out that way cancruiser, with the finer tentacles and translucent body. It just came back after a third glacial acetic acid injection. Give it a week and the tents will be long and thin again. It's the last one of 6 that killed off (or the treatment) most of a large colony of star polyps that I grew from a dime size frag to covering ~15lb flatish LR. I just don't want it spreading.

Szesteve, I insert (jab) the needle in the oral cavity, since it gets ~2" tall, I see the needle stay in while I inject. When it retreats into the hole I did cover it with powder.

It's not the majano anemonae is it? I can't seem to find any clear pics online to confirm. I'll take another pic when it looks better and maybe we can get a definite ID on this thing.

Thanks all for the help/input :)

Hey Red-Sea,

I know this may sound quite difficult for your case since ur tank is so big, but what I did was take the affected rock out and treat it out of the tank then re-soak the rock in another pail of tank water. This way, the apstasia didn't break up within the tank.
