well almost three months without a digital camera almost drove me to distraction. Especially since I upgraded my lighting system. Would have loved to have gotten pics of the chassis going together. Well it's three 250W MH's the ballasts are in the basement and are wired up to a 484 electriical bow on the wall behind the tank. From there a quick disconnect continues to the chassis. The chassis is supported by aircraft cable that runs through eyebolts which facilitates raising and lowering for access. The backbone is a piece of 35mm*15mm extruded aluminum tube in which I ran all the wiring for a very clean look. All the connections are made inside a utility box for access, plus it was the easiest way to make the job look halfway professional. All the layouts, drilling, mounting and wiring took about three days of sporatic work.

Looks great Dman! The only thing I would be concerned with are the eye bolts, after a while the cable may start to cut through them. I would attach some small pulleys to the eye bolts and and run the cable through them instead.
just my $.02

Kenzy, thanks for the input. I actually have about 200 bearings to use for just this application but when I put it up I was pressed for time somewhat. Plus, I find I only raise and lower it about once every week or two but I will definately keeep my eye on the condition of the eye bolts.
In the mean time you need any bearings? They make great pulleys
