Hello,
I am thinking of getting one of these units for my tank and for drinking water as well. However I heard drinking RO/DI is bad for you (i.e. the water is too pure). From what I know some people use T-value or some form of splitter to switch between RO (drinking) and RO/DI (for tank)...
I want to know if there is way to do this without voiding the warranty...
Thanks...

RO water is good for you to drink...DI is ok to drink, but does not contain the minerals, etc. that the body needs. If drinking DI water - make sure that you are drinking other water as well to make up for the lack of minerals/metals/etc. DI water is also more expensive...so this can be an issue as well. :D

You can "T" off the RO supply without any warranty problems at all. This can be done either via just a "T" (http://aquariumpros.ca/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=JGF&Category_Code=RA) and a ball valve (http://aquariumpros.ca/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=JGBV&Category_Code=RA) - or via an add-on Drinking Water Kit (http://aquariumpros.ca/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=ADDWK&Category_Code=RA).

I personally have the add-on DW kit and it is great to always have pure water available at the sink.

Let me know if you have any further questions!!

Cheers,

Just so you know, some folks only drink RO/DI water. People that get kidney stones and other health reasons have to drink DI water only.

Most people drink RO water, not DI. It won't hurt you, but it doesn't taste that good. The resin are food grade, but the color changing die does have a "not so good" taste.

The way the fittings we use work makes it easy to reconfigure your system. So if you want to try it, you can.
