Hey guys..

Converting my JBJ Nano Cube in to a 12 Gallon SPS Tank, Bascily looking to stock it with Frags from my Main system... and other small Frags I'm picking up around town..

I'm having issues with my Dam Tang knocking my Frags around and I'm losing too many of them..

So I'm going to setup this nano tank as sort of a Nano/Grow out.. Attach the small frags to the larger rocks... When they encrust then just move the rocks into the main tank so the dam tang can't move them..

So..

My Question...

- My current tank is running 250 watt 14ks.. Most of my SPS are sitting no more than 6 inches under the water level.. and the halide's are sitting 8 inches above the water level..

So do you think i would have issues by Moving these frags into my Nano and running a 175 watt 14K about 6 inches off the water line??

I think it would be around the same intensity would it not??

Thanks
Michael.

Here we go,

I setup the White balance to custom with the 10ks.. and then did not change anything and shot under the 14ks so you can see a big difference..

Now im using 2X4's to Prop up the reflector unit until i can get around to building a canopy, I do have a Desk fan blowing on the tank from the side So its blowing cooler air across the tank I'm sure it would heat no nicely with this halide on it..

nice.... just one question, whats the purpose of the eggcrate on the bottom of the tank ????..

Michael_Lambert

because I'm going bare bottom ( No Substrate ) the egg crate prevents Falling rocks from breaking the glass.

Won't the egg crate make it difficult to clean the debris of the bottom?? Have you though of using "starboard", which seems to be all the rage on RC.

nope, no issues with detris.. Now im only using this tank setup as it is for some Acros.. to grow out.. so there is not much waste..

a few places carry these but if you want the best deal go to Marine depot, in brampton they'll include 15lbs of live rock with the tank purchase.
